New look and new features! I recently shared some of the updates I did with Dallas' new website, and now I've taken those lessons to my own site!

As I share more of my art, the format will continue to evolve, but I'm going for a different feel than Dallas. With his experience in fashion and appreciation in editorial imagery, we made his site more crisp and clean. I wanted my new site to be more expressive of what I'm creating in my life. Category is 70's hippie goth, dark velvet and lava lamp realness.

In other news, I've been preparing for an art show in October at the Limelight Restaurant & Lounge in Portland. Dallas and I will be showing with several artists. I'll give more news on this soon and reveal the names of the artists, but first I need to focus on making more art (ironically, last I checked there was "vandalism" in the men's restroom at Limelight saying in large letters "Make More Art" and I feel motivated every time I see it).

I've also been putting some work into overhauling my Etsy store. If you haven't been there in a while, there are now wire wrapped crystals, glow in the dark embellished prints, and adorable rainbow flag pins. I'm super excited for the work I've done and am riding a high of accomplishments.

Hello again Readers! If you thought I was done then guess again. I have decided it is time to write about the topic that caused me to start this blog. I first addressed this issue in a public RuPaul's Drag Race fan group shortly after the events in Orlando. After carefully crafting my post I went to bed and then to work the next morning. During this time my post became a heated conversation and then was deleted before I even signed back into my profile to hold any sort of discussion. My Meditation of Pride

The rainbow flag. It has long been a symbol of Pride, encouraging diversity and love. It has shifted, evolved, and become varied in ways to meet specific needs within the overall Queer community. I really enjoy seeing everybody flying their own flags. I recently did research into the original 8 colors of the first Pride flag and meditated on the colors and meanings in order to make the symbol stronger for myself. I found myself walking away with a stronger sense of Pride, a better identification with gay history, and a more general sense of balance. I thought it would be good to share this meditation technique. Regardless of your gender and gender identity, I support trying out this meditation technique to enrich your life.

"Actually..." and National Coming Out Day

      On Sunday, August 8th, I was sent a message from somebody close to me, advising me that my parents had made a public statement on Facebook, a self proclaimed rebuttal to conversations and comments I have openly had about my childhood and experiences with them. When I first read the message I had a knot in my stomach. I heard my mother's voice. She speaks of her suffering, and while I may not be on speaking terms with my mother, and as much as it may surprise her, It does hurt me to hear her suffer. Based on her personalization of what she has read that I have said before, she will likely disagree with my statement that I have never wanted my parents to have misfortune or to suffer.
